I've Moved Sites

I've switched sites.  Please, visit my new blog at thingsmenlove.wordpress.com.  See you soon.

Back in Action

After a long pause, I'm back.

I've decided that this blog will take a slightly different turn.  It will still focus on things we love, as men, but will not only be cigars, pipes and beer.

I'll feature different items that I come across that might be of interest to men.  Let me know what you think.

Good to be back!

P.S. There will still be beer, cigar and pipe reviews... the good stuff, ya know?

Gifted Cigars

Gifted cigars can be scary.  People that give cigars are not usually cigar experts.  Most of the time gifted cigars are lower quality cigars with fun wrappers.
But occasionally one is gifted and excellent cigar.  I was juts given a cigar, celebrating the birth of my girls.  This cigar is called Strativarius.

This cigar is made with Dominican and Nicaraguan seed tobacco. It offers a relaxing, smooth smoke.  The wrapper is a light connecticut wrapper (my favorite).  I am a fast smoker, but this smoke was still about 1 hour.  The after taste is almost as enjoyable as the initial flavor.  This was certainly in my top three cigars.  I enjoyed this gifted surprise.

I would highly recommend this cigar.  I would also give the Stradivarius a 10 out of 10.

Fumas by Padilla

Gentlemen,
A new, low cost smoke.  Fumas by Padilla is a great cigar for a low cost.  It is a light colored, kind of mild smoke .  It was about a 45 minute smoke.  The cigar did not overwhelm me, but was an ok cigar.

I would give Fumas by Padilla a 5 out of ten.  I would suggest it if you are looking for a cheap smoke.

Greetings

In our lives we love certain things as men. Some of my favorites that are common among many men are beer, wine, cigars and pipes.
I will be keeping this blog to inform you of fine specimens that I experience. I also encourage you to comment on your fine finds, in the world of BWCP (beer, wine, cigars, pipes).
To begin our discussions, I'll share some of my favorites.

In the line of beers, I enjoy domestics such as Budweiser, Fat Tire, and Boulevard. My favorites right now are wheat beers such as Boulevard and Blue Moon.
As far as wines go, I prefer merlots. A good riesling is nice as well.
My favorite cigar is Rocky Patel's Connecticut. I do not like madura cigars (dark). I usually buy cigars from Tinderbox or from CI (Cigars International).
And as most know, I prefer pipes. I love a blend that I buy from Tinderbox in downtown Rapid City, SD. It is called Burley Light. An aromatic, cool blend from Virginia.

As well as sharing favorites, I would like to share great buys, smokes, and flavors.
I had a great cigar tonight, Casa Torano by Carlos Torano. The cigar was wrapped in a connecticut seed wrapper. It was about a 45 minute smoke. It was a fairly mild smoke. I enjoyed it. I'd give it a 4 out of 5.

I hope you all have fun keeping up on this.
